Blackmagic Design on Thursday announced the release of its Multibridge Extreme 5.4 software, available for free download from its Web site. Multibridge Extreme is a bidirectional PCI Express-based.
I recently bought a MacPro with Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and tried to make my Multibridge Extreme run which I used before just as a stand alone converter and a decklink PCIx card in my old PowerMac G5.I installed the latest driver I found (9.6.9) and after installation I was asked to update the firmware of the Multibridge. Updating failed.
I tried some older versions, some other v.9, some v.8, some v.7 and at last v.6 from the legacy archive. None worked. Either the firmware update failed or the version was for PPC and nothing happened after installation of the driver. (I uninstalled every version before I installed the next.)
Does someone has a hint for me how to make this work. Any suggestions appreciated.
(I could go back to 10.5 or 10.6 if this would help even if I wouldn't like this solution very much.)
Cheers,
Harry
